The routes database is now read-only. Route information is gradually being migrated to theCrag and this site will eventually be decommissioned.

The ACAQ web site contains information about ongoing policy and access work relating to climbing in Queensland.

08. Mount Victoria (incl. Ikara, Boronia Pt, Piddington, Corroboree, Zig Zag, etc)

  - 08 Central Tablelands (inc. The Blue Mountains)
This subregion is unlocked for editing, and its crags are unlocked. Crag additions are allowed.
Description:This area really is the home of rock climbing in the Blue Mountains. It contains a variety of crags featuring both trad and sport climbing.
Location:6km northwest from Blackheath.
Useful Info:The Imperial Hotel was once the hub of Blue Mountains climbing. You can walk to most of the crags from the train station. Mt. Vic flicks, an old style movie theater and The Museum are not a bad way to while away a few hours on a rest day. There is cheap(ish) backpacker accommodation available in the Pub.

Most Blue Mountains crags are either in a National Park or on Blue Mountains City Council land. DOGS ARE NOT ALLOWED IN NATIONAL PARKS. The BMCC also heavily frowns upon dogs in bushy BMCC areas. Please do not further endanger climbing access and damage climbers' relationships with the land managers - don't bring your dog.
